Coming soon: Flying Simulator 2009
We are currently in a pre-alpha stage. For now check out the airport search through the tab "Airports of the world" above. It even includes photos from flickr taken close to each airport.
Get on board and fly the modern passenger planes of the world. This is by far the most realistic flight simulator ever made, with events happening real-time according to detailed statistical analysis.
- Fly between almost all airports in the world, over 3900 will be available in the first version(data delivered by ICAO)
- Slick flying interface made in Adobe Flash, with unprecedented graphics and realism
- Tight integration with Google maps for keeping track of your itinerary and previous flights
- Earn frequent flier miles for your flights and compete with other people online
- Actual weather from around the world integrated into simulation provides ground breaking experience
- Gather flags from around the world as you visit the most remote airports on earth. Can you collect them all?
- All aspects of flying are covered, you would swear that you were on the inside of a plane
- The best alternative to the recently cancelled Microsoft Flight Simulator

Technology
This site runs on Google AppEngine using the Django framework for Python. The front-end is a mash-up of flash built with Adobe Flex and Google Maps.
We of course strive to have our solution cover as many buzz words and different technologies as possible. The current list includes:
- Cloud based infrastructure
- Mashup
- REST services
- JSON
- XML (Note to self: Add some useless xml file in somewhere in the code)
- Web2.0
- Memcache
- OpenId
- JQuery
